During the course of the week, we have settled really well into the routines of our new classes. We now know the expectations of us and how to be successful in our class.  We have been using all our 'Secrets of Success' (SOS) including our new one  - 'COMEPETE'.

In our English we have been learning about a book called 'Street Child' by Berlie Doherty. It is about a boy called Jim Jarvis and his life story. So far we have found out that he has been kicked out of his family home by the dreadful Mr Spink because Jim is poor - his mother is exceptionally ill and cannot work so they have no money.

In our Art lessons we have been introduced to the famous graffiti artist Banksy and we have been:

  • Exploring the meaning behind his work.
  • Deciding where it is ever right to graffiti.
  • Creating our own tags for our class display.

In our F.U.N Maths lessons we have been chanting 6x times’ tables, singing a song about the 6x table and playing lots of games using the 6x table. It is very fun but also educational. We have also been working out calculations such as 6x33,217 or 6x63,785 as well deciding which numbers are the odd one out by their properties.
