E-Safety Assemblies - Ella-Grace and Alistair

On Monday 7th December, Class 3 and 4 held an assembly about E-Safety. We have been learning about it for a while now and has helped us know a little bit more about it. E-safety is really important to everyone- even adults. Staying safe online makes your life secure and doesn’t cause any hassle.

We participated in a questionnaire to confirm that we all know about staying safe online. Below is the list of questions and answers.

The character who is involved in these questions is: Dodge!

  1. Dodge got an email to say he had won a year’s supply of bin juice-we choose the option- delete the email or send it to spam.
  2. Dodge is setting up a Space book event for Katie’s surprise birthday party. What should he do to make sure it remains a private party?- we choose the option-make the event private.
  3. Whilst creating his event page on Space book, a friend request pops up for Dodge. He doesn’t recognise the person in the picture. What should he do? - We choose the option- ignore is he doesn’t know them.
  4. The Vamps have just released their new single and Dodge just has to have it. It’s available for download through an official online music store and will cost a bit of pocket money. However, he’s seen it’s available to download for free from lots of websites. What should he do? – We choose the option – pay for the download.
  5. Dodge has downloaded the song from the free site, but it’s not a trustworthy site and he gets a pop up saying that he’s got a virus and offering free anti-virus software. What should he do? – We choose the option – Don’t click on the pop up.
  6. At the surprise party, Dodge secretly filmed Chris doing some terrible dancing to One Direction. Chris didn’t realise he was being filmed. Dodge wants to put the vid online. What should he do? – We choose the option – Only share if Chris says so.
  7. Whilst Dodge is surfing the net, an advert for a game called ‘Deadly Bin Battle’ pops up. It says that gamers must be 18 and a half dog years or older. Dodge isn’t old enough. What should he do? – We choose the option – tell his mum or another adult.
  8. Dodge decides to click and play ‘Deadly Bin Battle’. It soon becomes clear this game not suitable for a young pup and he sees some videos of dogs fighting that really upset him. What should he do? – We choose the option – tell a parent or adult.
